Garage Door Repair Callback Checklist
A few specific details can make the first garage door callback more useful. Focus on what the door is doing, what you can safely observe, and any access or timing constraints around the garage.
Before you request help
- Do not try to force a crooked, stuck, or spring-damaged door.
- Photograph the full door from inside and outside, then close-ups of springs, cables, rollers, tracks, panels, opener lights, and the bottom seal if safe.
- Note whether the opener hums, clicks, reverses, flashes sensor lights, loses remote connection, or only works from the wall button.
- Share whether a vehicle is trapped, the door is open to weather, or the garage cannot be secured.
- List gate codes, pets, parking limits, HOA restrictions, or preferred callback windows.
